Gwangju

Ok....2 weeks in and I have decided to ditch the backpack (well, I still have it actually) BUT I bought a suitcase! HAHA! We met this guy in Japan and he had a very strong case in favor of suitcases...so as of now for Kelly its Suitcase 1 Backpack 0. We left Busan and headed to Gwangju. Most tourists go Northeast, but I had already gone that route so we decided to go West to a path less traveled. We booked ourselves online to the ONLY hostel in Gwangju and took the 4 hour bus ride. When we arrived we tried to ask how we could get to our hostel at the information booth. The nice woman tried to help, but the best answer we could get was, "its very inconvenient to go to your hostel, you shouldn't go, get a hotel" After an hour of trying to figure out why a hostel would exist and have no explanation of how to get there from the city bus terminal, we decided to just walk around and find a motel. With Agustin's excellent bargaining skills we got a place, with a TV, for the same price as a hostel!!!

:).....but my back feels so good!!!

Doing laundry in our motel!
We didn't have a clue what to do in Gwangji, and we couldn't find an English map! So, we got on the subway to-anywhere, and we met a nice Korean man that told us to go climb the famous mountain in the city. SO WE DID!
Temples on the way up the mountain

We made it to the top!!! (along with thousands of others- it was their national "Thanksgiving" and we decided that they climb mountains on this holiday!)

Agustin's 26th Birthday was October 5th!!! I thought long and hard on what to get him....I came up with a meal from Burger King! He loved it!!! Happy Birthday!
