Bundi - Rajasthan - India

Bundi is a small city that lays between mountains. It was the quietest city we went to in ALL of India and because of our train tickets and it being the end of the trip we decided to spend 5 days. That is about 4 days more than you need to see ALL of Bundi! We stayed at this guesthouse called RN Haveli, highly recommend by all the guide books- HOWEVER they failed to mention that one of the owners just had a baby and she is a bit NUTS! At every opportunity she would try to unload her baby on every guest. She expected free babysitting from everyone, it was very odd and made for many uncomfortable moments! So, we had 5 days to hang out in this small city and I think we saw everything we needed to!

The dried up lake in Bundi

Children in the park playing it was the first time we saw such a thing in India, and it was really nice!
Kids being kids!

The view of Bundi from the Castle

The fort and the castle

More pictures of the castle!

The castle lit up at night-absolutely gorgeous!

Most of the houses in Bundi are painted this blue color, it is supposed to help keep the house cooler!(Didnt seem to work for our HOT house!)

Streets of Bundi!

Many monkeys in Bundi! We LOVE monkeys!!!

The castle

The door of the fort, it had spikes on it to stop the charging elephants or camels.

An amazing looking tree at in the fort!

These boxes housed the pigeons that were used for sending letters!

Walking down the hill from the fort!

The other Bundi lake that was not dried up! Those green things are many many lilypads!
